EASTERN FLORIDA STATE COLLEGE COVID-19 SYLLABUS TEMPLATE
COVID-19: COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and possibly even death. While Eastern Florida State College has taken reasonable steps to minimize the risk of exposure on College property, there is always an inherent risk of contracting the disease in any place where people are present. Students electing inperson classes and activities on College property do so at their own risk. In addition, students must always comply with all College health and safety requirements relating to COVID-19, including always wearing facial coverings (over the nose and mouth) and maintaining social distancing (at least 6 feet) while on College property. Students who cannot wear facial coverings for medical or other reasons must receive an approved accommodation from the Student Access for Improved Learning (SAIL) office. Students who are diagnosed with, test positive for, develop symptoms of, or have close contact with someone having COVID-19 should immediately notify their instructor or activity supervisor. If the student is on College property, the student must immediately leave and remain away from College property until further notice. Any return to College property is subject to the approval of College administrators. In addition, students who reasonably appear to be sick during in-person classes or activities may be required to leave at the discretion of the instructor, activity supervisor, or other College official. Failure to comply with any College health or safety requirement or directive relating to COVID-19 may result in disciplinary action under the Student Code of Conduct, which may result in suspension or expulsion from the College.
