CHEATIN' CHOCOLATE CAKE Baking time: 35+minutes
Ingredients 1 box chocolate cake mix 1 box of brownie mix ingredients for both mixes
Cooking Instructions Follow ingredients on BOTH boxes and mix together in one big bowl. Grease and flour 2 9-inch pans Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Do not over bakethat's the kiss of death! Do the knife test. Invert cake to remove from pan and cool on wire rack. For special occasions, refrigerate cake after it has cool. Create additional layers by pulling string or floss through cake. A 4-layer cake is very impressive! For an adult cake: Puncture cake with fork and pour in coconut milk, coconut rum, Kahlua, or any favored liqueur . Note: High altitude bakers need to follow high altitude instructions on box. Yummy filling suggestions: Apricot or raspberry jam
Chocolate Buttercream frosting: 8 Tbs (1 stick) butter at room temp 1/3 cup cocoa 3 and 3/4 cup powdered sugar 3-4 Tbs milk or cream 2 Tbs vanilla extract Beat butter with mixer until smooth and fluffy. Add in remaining ingredients. Beat in. Add milk one tablespoon at a time. The longer you whip, the fluffier the frosting becomes.
