Call for Papers Seventh Conference of the International Association for Tourism Economics 3-6 September 2019, La Plata, Argentina Conference Location The International Association for Tourism Economics is delighted to announce that the Association’s Seventh Conference will be held at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina. With over a century of experience, the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, Argentina, is a pioneer in studies and in cultural, artistic and scientific advanced developments. Its academic excellence and prestige have contributed to position it among the most important universities in the country and the region. The conference will be co-hosted by the Department of Economics and the Department of Tourism, at the Faculty of Economic Sciences in La Plata. La Plata is a vibrant cultural city, located 56 kilometers to the south of Buenos Aires.

PhD Workshop PhD students attending the conference should also attend and present at the PhD workshop, which gives them the additional opportunity of receiving feedback and advice from IATE council members. Publications Outstanding papers will be considered for publication in a Special Focus in Tourism Economics, published by SAGE. Tourism Economics is a peer-reviewed journal devoted to the economics and finance of tourism worldwide. Articles address the components of the tourism product and the economic organization of tourism at micro and macro levels. Key Dates Abstract submission: 15 February 2019 Acceptance notification: 15 March 2019 Full paper submission (optional): 10 May 2019 Submissions should be in English and include title, name of the author(s), affiliation, up to 5 keywords and abstract (100 – 500 words long) OR extended abstract (up to 2000 words). Authors with accepted submissions can optionally upload the full paper at a later stage. Submissions will be managed by Easychair, an external Conference Management System. Authors are not compelled to submit the full paper, but only full papers are eligible for entry into the best paper award. Presentations based only on a submitted abstract may be allocated less time than full paper submissions.
