Burke Women’s Fund to Host “Lunch and Learn” The Burke Women’s Fund is hosting a “Lunch and Learn” on Thursday, April 28th at First Baptist Church (500 Faet Street Northwest) in Valdese, NC from 12 noon until 1pm. Presentations will be made by organizations and groups that are offering programs to help women and families in Burke County. Organizers hope that this event will educate attendees about resources available and allow an opportunity for networking and engagement. Lunch will be provided, but donations will be accepted. The Burke Women’s Fund (BWF) was created in 2009 under the auspices of the Community Foundation of Burke County and aspires to bring a diverse group of women together around substantive issues relating to women and families. The vision of the Burke Women’s Fund is to advance the power of collective giving among Burke County women, empower women in meaningful and purposeful ways, gain a deeper understanding of the issues that affect women and children in our community and provide impactful financial support which improves the quality of life for all.
