Knowing Jesus More and Making Him Known

Challenges for Prayer The Chilean Church lacks missions vision. Its contribution for its size is very small, with little concern for world evangelization. The country’s geographical and spiritual isolation and political upheaval all contribute to this deficiency. By setting up missions’ training programmes, COMIBAM and locally based mission agencies (OM, YWAM, CMA, CENCAMI, SIM, WBT and others) have influenced the Latin American missions movement and stimulated some interest in missions. Foreign missions in Chile. The major agencies are: YWAM, ABWE, CC/CC, CB/CMML, AoG, CC(USA), MTW. The major tasks by which missionaries can serve the Chilean Church are in teaching, developing leadership, building up holistic programmes and encouraging a missions vision. Pioneer work is limited to some people groups listed below and among the richest and poorest of society. Pray for a significant and lasting impact by these workers on Chile.

VERSE FOR THE WEEK Romans 5: 3-5 “We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. 4 And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. 5 And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly a sound came from heaven like the rush of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire, distributed and resting on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. – Acts 2.

FRIDAY NIGHT CHINESE SERVICE

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit changed the course of human history forever. Those waiting in the upper room were transformed in their knowledge of God’s presence into the experience of His presence. They now had an overwhelming sense of God’s presence in their midst and they were empowered to fulfil God’s great call of making disciples of all nations.

LIFE GROUPS LEADERS MEETING

Without the working of the Holy Spirit in our lives, we can basically do nothing of lasting value and all our efforts will amount to nothing. If we are to penetrate the final frontiers of world evangelism, we have to rely on God’s ability and power. As Christians we need to walk in obedience to the LORD, yet knowing that the power to bring about lasting change does not lie with us, but with God. He is the One that empowers us to do what He has called us to do. As followers of the Lord we are called to experience Him, not merely know about Him and that is also what the Holy Spirit came to reveal to us. He leads us into all truth and testifies about Jesus Christ.
