However, for a Court to enforce this as a 'right' in a parochial school is reprehensible. What happened to separation of Church and State? What about the 'right' of a Christian Church to teach and to uphold the moral values it expounds? This gay 'right', the legal precedent having been made, will now become the law of the land and applicable to ALL schools across the nation! “The Prom” is, traditionally, a very special event in the lives of young people. It should not be marred by moral and legal controversy. The majority of young people should have the right to enjoy it. Nevertheless, with this legal decision, “Gay Rights” have hit a new low, bringing the moral climate of Canada down with it. Many parents make great sacrifices to protect their children from moral corruption and provide them with better academic environments.

They do so by sending, often at great expense, their children to private and parochial schools. Those who cannot afford to send their children to such schools are, in greater and greater numbers, demanding ‘back to basics’ public schools that also emphasize greater discipline and ethical conduct. Now, with this recent Court decision, how can parents protect their children from what they perceive as moral turpitude! Who will advocate for the RIGHTS of these parents? No one, that’s who! The rights of the minorities must be enforced at the expense of the majority’s moral and ethical sensibilities. That is the politically correct thing to do and, unfortunately, political correctness is, in all spheres of Canadian life, the LAW!
