Conflict on the Beach: Southern NSW Shorebird Workshops

Seminar Two days and of all Workshop you ever wanted to know about Friday 15th August, Melbourne shorebirds migratory and beach-nesting 28-29 Nov 2012

Many beach-nesting bird volunteers and land managers encounter a wide range of attitudes and responses from members of the public. These interactions can sometimes be challenging and it is vital to be able to respond to these interactions in a way that allows all beach goers to enjoy their visit, while keeping volunteers – and the birds they help protect – safe. Kevin Collister has over 20 years experience in counter-aggression approaches, and has developed an extensive communication toolbox that anyone can take on board and use every day. He now uses his skills to empower people in their approach to communication with his company Totally Proactive. This seminar and workshop will teach you how to adopt a safety-first approach, reduce stress, manage emotions constructively and manage difficult behaviours using counter-aggression communication skills. It is designed to inspire, educate and motivate participants to get the most out of every interaction with others and is an invaluable life skill which can be used, not only on the beach, but in everyday life.
