Week Thirteen This week at the Statehouse efforts are continuing to be made to finalize budgets and work towards wrapping things up. House File 2462 As many of you have seen in the news, we have been faced with a transparency issues and House Republicans are taking this issue on with full force. Monday evening the House passed HF 2462 which included support from 10 House Democrats. This bill would forbid confidentiality/nondisclosure clauses in personnel settlement agreements entered into by a state employee (of the executive branch) and the State. In addition, any confidentiality/nondisclosure clause in a personnel settlement agreement is not enforceable. All of this information will be made available online. The discovery of nondisclosure contracts in the last three administrations is alarming. This type of legislation is important to give the public the transparency they deserve. It is however alarming that some are not in favor of this type of legislation.
