Annual Literacy Fair—Friday, August 12th, 11:00-1:00 p.m., presented by Books on Wheels III– Join us for a celebration of this year’s Summer Reading Program and puppet show by Modern Times Theater. Pizza, prizes, and free books!

Family Night– Thursday, August 25th at 5:00 p.m.— Come help build a community marble run out of recycled materials, going all the way from the top floor to the basement! Pizza and a book give-away, too. Please let us know if you plan to attend– contact the library at (802) 626-5475 or email [email protected].

A tutor from Northeast Kingdom Learning Services is available at the Cobleigh Library every Monday from 1:00—3:00 p.m. Get your GED or work on High School Completion, improve your job prospects by working with a tutor on Workforce Skill Development with the “Career Ready 101” program. Adult programming

Join us for an Author Visit with Kate Daloz, author of “We Are as Gods: Back to the Land in the 1970’s on the Quest for a New America” Tuesday, August 9th at 7:00 p.m. Kate Daloz teaches in the writing center at Baruch College and works as a freelance writing consultant. Daloz grew up in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, in the geodesic dome her parents built after coming home from the Peace Corps. Green Mountain Books and Prints will have books available for sale.

The Romantic Ideal Reading and Discussion Series Everyone is invited to attend The Romantic Ideal Series, a free book discussion series sponsored by the Vermont Humanities Council. Discussions will be hosted by the Cobleigh Public Library on Thursday evenings beginning at 7:00 p.m. with the dates listed below. The library is ADA accessible. The characters in these works see out their ideal of love, happiness, and fulfillment with consequences that are by turns bittersweet, tragic, noble, unconventional, and even comic.
