News from Zimbabwe (A brief report by Ps Peter) I flew into Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s 2nd city on July 31st the very day of the recent election. All was peaceful but, not unexpectedly, President Mugabe & his Zanu PF Party blatantly rigged the results. No one I met doubted that the whole process was neither free nor fair. Despite the discouraging political situation in the country, however, God is still on the throne & He is building His Church. I was privileged to travel with our friend BJ Mpofu down to the town of Zvishavane – visiting Dadaya Mission & also some of the rural districts served by Pastor Timothy & Julia Rinopisa, who we support through KiwiLink. It was lovely to meet them & their four children. Later back in Bulawayo I had a precious time with some of the children & young people staying in the Khayelihle Children’s Village (KCV) that we also support through KiwiLink. In the photo with me are the two MBCC supports (little Ayanda Makovero & teenager Sithabele Moyo) as well as Sharon Nkomo who is supported by an MBCC member. Unfortunately I was unable to meet the TIGO (Trust in God Orphans) children that many of us sponsor as they live in the rural areas with foster families. I was able however to pass on the gifts & cards sent by members of MBCC & these will be delivered to the children.

A Word from the Pastor Thank you everyone for your prayers for my recent visit to Zimbabwe & South Africa. I had a truly wonderful time – both relaxing & encouraging. Time spent with loved ones friends is always very special – not only did I get to the lovely wedding of a niece in Zimbabwe, I also spent precious time with my 94 year-old mother Kath & with three of my four brothers & their wives. Today is a very special day at MBCC. Not only do we welcome our former pastor Rodney & Beryl Cowell but we rejoice in the baptism of Min Hua & Angela. May they both experience God’s hand of blessing upon their lives as they follow Him. God bless you, Peter
Volunteers for the Marriage Course starting 8 Sept So far 7 couples are registered for the seven-week Marriage Course starting Sunday Sept 8 from 3:30-5:30 PM. RBC Ministries – Bible Teaching Albert Lee, a senior leader in RBC Ministries, is to be speaking at public meetings being hosted by MBCC: 1. Friday 30 Aug 7-9 PM “Used by God”, based on 2 Timothy 2. Sat 31 Aug 1.30-4.30 PM – 2 messages based on the book of Judges. This is a great opportunity to hear excellent Bible teaching.
