The five friars of the St. Gratian Friary community in Countryside, Illinois have become technologically adept in their use of iPads to pray Morning & Evening Prayer together daily. The fact that they are all in their 70's is pretty impressive. The friars use the free app iBreviary that is available for both Apple & Android devices. Jim Walton who was having some eye trouble, believes using the iPad has helped him. Photo submitted by Chuck Faso, OFM

  A note from Marc Sheckells My STiP year is going well and I am adjusting to life in the small town. As a life-long city boy from Chicago, this change has definitely been the source of some culture shock! Although it is quite different, life in T-Town has given me a greater appreciation for the rural areas within which our friars minister. Additionally, seeing how our brothers and sisters farm the land and respect the planet has given me a deeper appreciation for our commitment as friars to creation. As an added bonus, I have also been able to make some furry friends along the way!
