The College of Education and the Florida Center for Reading Research at Florida State University invite applications for an assistant or beginning associate professor tenure-earning position to start in Fall 2016. The positions will involve teaching, research, and service within the program areas of Special Education or Reading/Language Arts in the School of Teacher Education, and will be made jointly with the Florida Center for Reading Research. The positions carry a reduced teaching assignment with correspondingly high expectations for research. Applicants with expertise and research interests in early and/or adolescent reading interventions are encouraged to apply. resPonsibiLities:

The applicants will be expected to maintain a rigorous grant writing and research program, teach masters and doctoral level classes in special education and/or reading/language arts, and participate in university governance.

Ph.D. in Special Education (or related doctorate) with an emphasis on early and/or adolescent reading interventions and learning disabilities. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to graduate teaching and strong evidence of scholarly productivity, including evidence of a federally-funded, independent research program.
