Sofia Liang is the Managing Director and Head of Financial Institution Group at ICBC International, the whollyowned Hong Kong subsidiary of ICBC, one of the largest banks in the world. Sofia has more than 15 years of investment banking experience. Prior to joining ICBC International, she was Managing Director and Head of Equity Capital Market at Macquarie Capital. Before Macquarie, she was the Executive Director of Equity Capital Market at Morgan Stanley Asia Securities.

Prior to Morgan Stanley, Sofia had been working at Citigroup Global Market in New York, London and Hong Kong for more than ten years, mainly participating in capital market financing and merger and acquisition of financial institutions. Sofia received her MBA degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her Bachelor degree from Peking University.
Mancy Sun, an Executive Director based in Hong Kong, heads up the Greater China Insurance research team. She joined Goldman Sachs in July 2008 and has led/participated in multiple listings of the regional insurers including AIA Group, CPIC and Dai-ichi Life. Mancy holds an MPA in International Affairs and Public Administration from Columbia University, and a BA in Economics from Tsinghua University.

Wilson Ho is General Manager of SAS Hong Kong, responsible for the company’s overall business operations formulating the go-to-market strategy; driving the company’s “Big Data, Big Analytics” initiatives in the market and helping the enterprises to glean business insights from the data assets with analytics .

Since joining SAS in 2015, Wilson has dedicated his energies to building strong and trusted relationships with clients by providing them with advanced analytics solutions to meet the challenges of big data, and collaborating with statistical and analytics pioneers in academia in nurturing new analytics talents and data scientists in Hong Kong who make a notable contribution to the local community. An industry veteran of 25 years, Wilson brings a wealth of leadership and sales management experience, gained with leading technology companies, to SAS Hong Kong. Wilson holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Hong Kong.
Justin Hareb is the Regional Director for Health and Protection in Asia. In 2012 he set up this team which is responsible for the strategy, oversight and technical governance for these lines of business across the value chain and covering 8 markets in Asia (both Life and P&C operations). Under his leadership, the business successfully quadrupled between 2010 and 2015 and is on track to have total premiums in excess of EUR2.2bn in 2016. This portfolio now delivers the lion’s share of operating profits in the region for AXA.

Justin started his career in management consulting with Bain & Co, followed by a stint in investment banking before choosing to focus on the insurance industry in 2004. Justin brings a truly global perspective to AXA, having been based across continents including America, Africa, Europe and most recently Asia, where he has been based for the last 8 years.
Edwin Northover is an Asia-based international counsel in the firm’s Corporate Department. Edwin has a broad cross-border public and private mergers and acquisitions practice, with a particular focus on mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and distribution agreements in the insurance industry. Since moving to Hong Kong office in 2012, he has worked on several of the most significant insurance M&A transactions in Asia. He also has extensive private equity experience, having worked on a number of strategic and co-investments. Edwin joined Debevoise in 2007 and was based in our London office prior to his move to Asia. He is qualified in both England & Wales and Hong Kong.

During 2013, Edwin spent six months on secondment to the Mergers & Acquisitions team of a multinational insurance company in Paris. In 2015, he spent a period in the Financial Institutions Group of our New York office.
Alexander Moore joined Morgan Stanley in 2001. He has spent 14 years in banking and 10 years in Asia. Alexander Moore is a Managing Director in the Financial Institutions Group based in Hong Kong, covering the broad insurance sector (direct as well as reinsurance) and asset management sector throughout Asia. He joined Morgan Stanley’s London office as an analyst in 2001, transferring to Morgan Stanley’s Hong Kong office in early 2005. Born in Hong Kong, Alexander speaks French and Mandarin and obtained a First-class BA in Mathematics from Oxford University.

Mark Saunders is the Group Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer of AIA Group Ltd and a member of the Group Executive Committee. His areas of responsibility have Customer Propositions at the core. AIA is the world's 2nd largest life insurer by market cap and Mark is responsible for the Group’s Strategy including M&A, corporate transactions, partnership and customer propositions, corporate and product development. As CMO, he also leads the group-wide Marketing function covering all 18 markets in which AIA operates. He joined AIA in April 2014. Mark’s responsibilities ensure customers are at the centre of AIA's strategic and corporate development enabling optimisation of the creation of shared value for stakeholders. Prior to joining AIA, Mark was Managing Director of Towers Watson (1997-2014) and in consulting to the leading insurers in Asia, as Practice Leader for the Asia-Pacific Insurance Sector, growing the business to a market leading position. He was also Managing Director of Towers Watson Hong Kong, the firm's largest operation in Asia Pacific. Mark is widely regarded as a leading practitioner in life insurance in Asia and in the fields of strategy, corporate and business development, customer propositions, financial, risk and capital management and economic value determination of life insurers having been involved in nearly every major M&A deal and capital raising exercise of insurers in Asia since the late 1990s and has provided the most Expert Opinions in the Prospectuses of the major high profile IPOs and listings of Asian life insurers.
