April 2017 Calendar of Events Baton Rouge Region April 4 (Tuesday): CLOUD SIGN UP Join the Cloud today! The GO Cloud will allow you to view all events and activities on-line and allow you to pay on line via credit card or check. If you do not want to engage the Cloud, you can continue to register as in the past, but a “dummy” account will need to be set-up. You will be able to view how to access the website and register for a GO event. If you will be using your phone, I Pad, or Laptop, you should bring them with you. However, it is not necessary to bring any device with you. 9:00 am – 11:00 am Hospital Classroom Snack Provided RSVP REQUIRED April 5 (Wednesday): BREAKFAST BUNCH: “Hair Loss and Treatment.” Presented by: Kelli Hall, MD Dr. Hall will get to the root of hair loss or alopecia. Hair loss is a concern for men, women, and children. She will discuss treatments for hair loss, medications and hair restoration and prevention of hair loss. 9:30 am - 11:00 am Hospital Classroom Snack Provided RSVP REQUIRED April 6 (Thursday): Movie Review: “The Zookeeper’s Wife” AMC THEATER 16040 Hatters Drive Please pay at the Movie Theater GO members will meet at the theater at 9:30 am $5.00 per person- admission $4.00 per person – small drink & small popcorn & fruitie tootie snack Based in a true story, The Zookeeper's Wife tells the account of keepers of the Warsaw Zoo, Antonina and Jan Zabinski, who helped save hundreds of people and animals during the German invasion. April 19 (Wednesday): ROAD TRIP: “Baby Cake vs. Iowa Cubs” New Orleans $28.00 per Person LUNCH ON YOUR OWN Depart from Ochsner Plaza II: 9:30 am Return Time: 4:00 pm The New Orleans Baby Cakes (formerly known as The Zephyrs) are a minor league baseball team based in Metairie, LA. The Baby Cakes play in the Pacific Coast League and are the Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. The stadium is often referred to as “The Shrine on Airline”. Concessions at Shrine on Airline feature traditional ballpark fare staples such as hot dogs, corn dogs, hamburgers, chicken tenders, nachos with cheese and popcorn to the more extravagant foods such as fried catfish, muffulettas, po' boy’s sandwiches, jambalaya, and pigskin nachos. RSVP REQUIRED April 20 (Thursday): GET GOING: “Artistico Express” 1962 O’Neal Lane Suite E (Behind Waffle House) $12.00 per piece-paid in advanced – Checks payable to: Artistico Express Arrival Time: 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Artistico Express, a contemporary “paint your own pottery” studio, will be hosting our group to paint an 8 inch salad plate, 12 oz. mug or a 6 inch square tile. Instructions and all tools for painting will be provided. Pieces are dishwasher and microwave safe.
