Lincoln’s Boyhood in Indiana and Journey to Illinois September 8-10, 2016 (Thursday-Saturday, 3 days/2nights)

Join us in commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Lincoln family’s arrival in Indiana as Dr. Samuel Wheeler, State Historian, and Ann Kramer of Lincoln Land Community College lead a three-day trip to Lincoln Boyhood sites in Indiana; then follow the Lincoln family to Illinois. Highlights  Tour the impressive Visitor Center at the Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial and visit the living history farm on the Lincoln home site; walk the trail to the Nancy Hanks Lincoln grave.  Take a guided bus tour with Bill Bartelt, author of “There I Grew Up” Remembering Abraham Lincoln’s Indiana Youth, to Lincoln related sites in southern Indiana including The Squire Samuel Pate House, the Ohio River Crossing, the Little Pigeon Baptist Church and the gravesite of Sarah Lincoln Grigsby.  Learn about furniture made by Thomas Lincoln during an evening program by Steve Hauff, expert woodworker.  Follow the Lincoln’s journey to Illinois and explore Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln’s farm in Coles County. The bus will leave the LLCC Cass Gym parking lot on Thursday, September 8, at 7:30 a.m. and return at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 10. Course Code and Fees  CEW 121-04 Fee $335 (double room occupancy)  CEW 121-05 Fee $100 (single supplement for private hotel room) All meals are provided except for one dinner on your own. Tipping Notes: Gratuities for escorts, guides and motor coach driver are included in the fees.
