PA-1 On ALERT
As of 0700 this morning PA‐1 has been placed on Alert for response to Hurricane Sandy. Although we are not officially on call until Nov 1st, all the October teams have been either used or eliminated as they are not able to travel them to the east coast. If you are receiving this email you are on this roster. I need to hear from each and every one of you(by email) to acknowledge receipt of this email and to let me know that you are avail to deploy as early as today with little advance notice. In this email, please let me know how long you would need after notification to get from where you will be today to Monroeville PA . Those from the East will most likely not be expected to travel this direction and once we would know a location we could make a rendezvous point out that way. IF deployed, we will be traveling by ground and will travel in full uniform. What you need to do now: 1. Reply to this email and let me know the following: a. Are you avail to deploy today with little notice? b. If you are not, what is the earliest that you could deploy? c. How long after notification can you be in Monroeville PA with your gear? 2. Notify your employer that you have been placed on Alert and that you may need to leave with little notice. 3. Keep your cell phone on and with you at all times. 4. Check your email frequently and respond immediately to any requests. 5. If you are going to be away from home, keep your gear in your vehicle and with you. 6. If you need to send communication to me, do so by email NOT text. Put the subject of your communication in the subject line unless replying to a request for information that I sent out. 7. Make sure your gear is backed including Federal ID, GovCC, take some cash, personal medications etc. We have a conference call this morning at 0930 and will hopefully have some additional information at that time.
