FEBRUARY 2016 PROGRAMS @ AGINCOURT LIBRARY Newcomer Youth Book Club & Conversation Circle Monday Feb. 1, 8, 22, & 29; 4:00 – 5:30pm Newcomer youth ages 13-18 are invited to Agincourt library to meet new friends, learn and practice English, gain new skills, get volunteer hours and more. Citizenship Test Preparation Workshop Monday Feb. 1 & 8, 6:00 – 8:00pm We will help you pass the Canadian Citizenship Test! Topics covered include: Canadian history, Canadian government/politics, the rights of all Canadians and more. Practice questions and tests will be provided! Smart Investing with Ellen Roseman Thursday Feb. 4th, 6:30 – 8:00pm Are you confused about how to save money and taxes when you invest? Join us as Ellen Roseman, Toronto Star personal finance columnist as she explains the ins and outs of these financial plans, who should use them and how to make sure you follow the rules. NFB Mini Film Fest: Invisible City Tuesday Feb. 2nd, 6:00 – 7:30pm Join us during Black History month for a free screening of the film Invisible City (Runtime: 75mins) Invisible City is a moving story of two boys from Regent Park crossing into adulthood; their mothers and mentors rooting for them to succeed, but their environment and social pressures keep tempting them to make poor choices. In partnership with the National Film Board of Canada, Toronto Public Library presents films that celebrate, discuss, and embrace diversity at branches across the city.
