ACCOUNTANT, SYDNEY DANCE COMPANY An opportunity has arisen to join the finance team of Australia’s leading contemporary dance company. Based in Walsh Bay, the company seeks a skilled, motivated and organised individual to add value to the finance team. Proven practical accounting experience, a good work ethic and excellent communication skills are essential characteristics of the person who might fill this role. POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title Accountant Position Reports To: Finance Manager Position: Fulltime permanent role Salary: $75,000-‐$85,000 The position assists the Finance Manager with all daily, weekly, monthly and annual activities of the Finance Department. Duties • Preparation, processing and maintenance of fortnightly payroll for all permanent and casual staff using MicroPay Meridian • Daily and weekly invoice preparation and input using MYOB accounting software. • Maintenance of debtors and creditors ledgers including invoice processing and invoice generation, aged debtor control and creditor payments. • Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts. • Checking, reconciliation and banking of all dance class, workshop and fundraising event receipts. This includes EFTPOS and credit card receipts. • Liaison with all staff members regarding internal transactions relating to mobile phones, expense reimbursements and credit card reconciliations. • Maintenance of finance records and documentation • Preparation of month end accounts including month end adjustments and budget variance analysis • Active participation in preparation of month end board reports • Active participation in budget and reforecast preparation and presentation • Active participation in preparation of year end accounts and annual audit pack • Preparation, maintenance and management of workers compensation and medical related dancer reimbursements while maintaining a close relationship with insurance providers. • Various other ad hoc tasks
