Importance of Distance Education There has been tremendous expansion of the Open and Distance Learning (ODL) System in India, particularly in the recent past. This is due to the fact that on one hand, the limited availability in the infrastructure for face-to-face interaction is unable to match the educational demands of the ever increasing number of aspiring learners, and on the other hand the affordability and convenience offered by Open Universities and Distance Education Institutions have contributed to the strengthening of the ODL system in the country. No doubt, today every fourth learner in higher education in the country is enrolled in the ODL system. India, in its developmental phase, requires an ever expanding lumber of managerial personnel. The limitations of the conventional and face-fo-face system to meet this ever expanding requirement are too well known. Distance mode for its flexibility and cost effectiveness is the obvious choice. ASBM - CDE ASBM Centre for Distance Education (ASBM-CDE) is recognised by the Distance Education Bureau (DEB), UGC, Government of India to impart management education through the distance mode. The programme is recognized by the DEB, UGC, Government of India. Its main objective is to provide equal opportunity to all to upgrade their knowledge, skill and personality related to management. Study Materials & Contact Classes The printed study-materials which are self-explanatory, self-contained, selfdirected, self-motivating, selfevaluating and serf-learning for different courses will be supplied to the learners according to requirement. There is proposal to arrange selected contact classes on weekends for the learners as per the necessity for clarification of doubts to have better understanding in different courses.
DEB Recognition The Distance Education Bureau (DEB) of India has recognized the programmes of ASBM-CDE for providing higher management education to the interested
learners. It is
informed
that
any
degree/diploma/certificate offered through distance mode recognized by the DEB shall be acceptable for employment in Government as well as Private Services. All the programmes will have quality of education and assurance for the standard of degree/diploma earned through distance mode of education. Curriculum Design
ASBM-CDE pioneers its efforts in bringing best management faculties for required assistance to the learners for successful completion of the programme. Its committed faculty team is equipped with rich academic credentials and corporate exposures through meaningful integration of knowledge across functional domains of management.
The curriculum has been planned carefully for developing effective managers by increasing relevant skills and competencies. The course structure for each programme consists of job oriented subjects with project work, computer training and personality development.

Eligibility Criteria The common eligibility criteria for admission to various programmes of ASBM-CDE are as follows : 1. Minimum graduation in any discipline from a recognized University/ Institute 2. For two-year programme, a candidate has to appear at the entrance examination
Application Form and Information Bulletin can be obtained from Centre for Distance Education of ASBM in person or by post after depositing Demand Draff for Rs. 300/-(Rupees Three Hundred only) drawn on any scheduled commercial bank in favour of ASBM-CDE payable at Bhubaneswar. The forms can also be directly downloaded from the website and to be sent to the Head, Centre for Distance Education, Asian School of Business Management, 8, Sai Anandam Complex, Patia Square, Bhubaneswar-751024 along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only) as mentioned above.

Examination Procedure The examination procedure for distance learning programme is stated below which may be changed according to necessity. 1. Winter Session Examination:

For Winter Session (December) examination the candidates will be required to submit their application forms by 10 October without fine and by 30th October with fine of Rs.200/-(Rupees Two Hundred). For Summer Session (June) examination the candidates will be required to submit their application forms by 10th April without fine and by 30th April with fine of Rs. 200/-(RupeesTwo Hundred).
Completion Period There is mandatory requirement to complete a programme within a time limit of maximum 6years for 2 years programme, falling which renewal will be required for the entire programme and students will have to appear the examination in all subjects again.
Evaluation And Results
Course Fee The following fee schedule is applicable for admission of students in the current session. However it may be revised at any time with or without prior information.
