7.20.11 Gail Leverson, Executive Director Open House Invitation 218-947-7522 [email protected] Open a New Door to Education!

A new door to education is opening in Cass County soon. Central Lakes College Community Outreach Site is opening its doors to the community on Thursday August 11 th from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Come and visit the site, have a hot dog and hear about your new opportunity to gain a top class education right here in Cass County. The new site is located at 980 1st Street North in Pine River and was most recently used as the Pine River- Backus School District offices. After a small remodeling project the building will be open for education again! CLC will be using a portion of the building for face to face classes starting in October. Another room is being remodeled to house a Community Computer Center so residents can take CLC classes on-line and workshops, which will begin August 22nd. Rebecca Best, Dean of Workforce, Economic and Regional Development at Central Lakes College and others will be speaking about the special opportunity this brings to the area. “Central Lakes College is very pleased to be partnering to provide courses in the Pine River area. This will bring great opportunities for students to take classes closer to home,” states Best. Anyone in the area is invited to attend the open house. Potential college students are especially invited to attend and talk with Best about the courses being offered at the site from Central Lakes College. The project has been coordinated by the Pine River Backus School District, Central Lakes College and the Cass County Economic Development Corporation (EDC). The Cass County EDC is a community nonprofit corporation with the mission to “Improve the business environment of Cass County by encouraging a strong, diverse and sustainable economy and to build better relationships between business, government agencies and local communities.” XXXX END XXXX
