NOTE: Eighth Street and Main Street between 8th and 3rd will be closed to all traffic between the hours of 8:00AM to 12:00PM on Saturday, July 9th due to the Shindig Parade. Third Street will remain open for traffic coming into and leaving Sultan. The best route out of town is Fir Avenue West to Third Street. ATV AND MTV INFORMATION The City of Sultan approved Ordinance 1180-13 on November 7, 2013 which allows motorized recreation vehicles, wheeled all terrain vehicles and golf carts to be used on public streets in Sultan city limits. The Ordinance has specifics on the size of vehicle, responsible operation, unlawful activities and exemption. Aslo, you must have your vehicle licensed through the Washington State Department of Licensing. For the Ordinance, please go to www.ci.sultan.wa.us and click on ATV Ordinance. To license your motorized recreational vehicle, please go to www.dol.wa.gov/vehichleregistration/watv.html CITY OF SULTAN Board of Adjustment Vacancies The City of Sultan is seeking applicants for the Board of Adjustment. Applicants must be a resident of the City of Sultan or live with the Urban Growth Area (UGA). The Board of Adjustment shall hear and decide the following: 1. Zoning Ordinance. To hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the planning staff regarding the application and interpretation of the Zoning Code, SMC Title 16; 2. Building and Construction Codes. To hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the building official or his or her designee regarding the application and interpretation of the Building and Construction Codes adopted by Title 15 SMC; 3. Sultan Municipal Code. To hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by city staff regarding the enforcement of other city codes. Spring is here and summer is just around the corner! The City would like to ask you to please prune your overgrown shrubs and mow your lawns. Please DO NOT blow your grass into City streets. It will be your responsibility to clean the street if you do. If you plan on updating your home or property, please check in with the City to see if a permit is required to avoid code enforcement and permit penalties. This includes but is not limited to decks, fences, sheds, landscaping, filling or working in a flood zone, hot water tanks, heat pumps and roofs. THANK YOU!!!!
