APPLICATION Open aperture metal halide recessed downlights for medium to high ceiling applications where long life and energy efficient HID lamp sources are desired. • Encapsulated dual tap 120/277V ballast for quiet operation. • Inline plug in connector for quick installation. • Ballast secured by trunk latch for easy one-handed release & removal. • Precision die-stamped galvanel plaster frame. • ETL listed for Wet Location use under covered ceiling and Through Branch Circuit Wiring. • Mounting frame accommodates ceiling material up to 1" thick.

PRODUCT DATA • JUNCTION BOX: Junction box has easy access covers, prewired with grounding pigtail, listed for through branch circuit wiring, 4 in/4 out, pryout KO's (2) 1/2", (2) 3/4".
• REFLECTOR: Heavy gauge aluminum reflector with Alzak® finish and self trimming flange. Available with or without baffle. • HOUSING: 18 gauge electrozinc plated steel features a one- inch plaster flange and adjustable height C-channel mounting brackets which accept a variety of optional hanger bars (see Accessories Section).
• SOCKET: 4 KV deep medium base glazed porcelain socket with nickel plated screw shell for open fixture rated lamp. • LAMP DATA: ED17 ceramic metal halide medium base open rated lamp. For optimum performance, ceramic metal halide lamps are suggested for their excellent CRI, color stability, and long life over a wide range of fluctuations in input voltage.
• ELECTRONIC BALLAST: Ballast module features solid state electronic ballast, thermally protected and mounted to junction box. Inline quick connectors facilitate installation and mainte- nance. Electronic ballast offers the benefits of energy savings and lower wiring costs, by using less input watts and current. Optional magnetic ballast is available.

REMODEL INSTALLATION GUIDE Figure A Removable piece for ease of installing into ceiling.
STEP 1 – The recessed pan is inserted into the ceiling opening and rotated into position in the ceiling opening as noted in Figure B. STEP 2 – The ceiling pan can be secured to the ceiling using fasteners (drill screws) or held in position with the clips and screws provided with the remodel kit. See Figure C. STEP 3 – Attach reflector to socket cup and insert reflector into ceiling. See Figure D.
