WageWorks will replace Conexis the new administrator for the Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) program including health care, dependent care and commuter benefits effective January 1, 2017. 4. 2017 FSA Commuter Benefits (Transit and Parking Accounts) – maximum annual limit increases to $255/mo for both accounts. 5. Blue Shield NetValue HMO will discontinue as of December 31, 2016. If you are enrolled in NetValue, your coverage will be transferred to Access+, no action is required, effective January 1, 2017. If you wish to select another plan other than the Blue Shield Access+, you may do so during Open Enrollment. a. Beginning in 2017, Optum Rx will become your Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM) for CalPERS’ PPO plans (PERSCare/Choice/Select) and all of its HMO plans including Anthem BC, Health Net, Sharp, and UnitedHealthcare. Blue Shield and Kaiser HMO will continue to administer their own prescription drug benefits and will not be impacted. Your new ID cards will be mailed to you during the second week of December. 6. Plans Expansion: Kaiser is expanding its BASIC plan to Santa Cruz county. Health Net is expanding into Marin County. UnitedHealthcare is expanding within San Luis Obispo, Madera, Riverside, San Bernadino and San Diego counties. 7. CalPERS is implementing an important new diabetes prevention program for all health plans in 2017. This benefit is designed to reach pre-diabetic plan members to prevent or reduce the onset of Type 2 diabetes. 8. Your individual Health Plan Statement via my|CalPERS is available for viewing only. For change, you must do so via www.iElect.com.
