Umpiring Information 2017 Our wonderful netball club cannot function without our hard working umpires! For every team that we register, we are required to provide an umpire. Our club and GNA provide an excellent, caring and supervised training program for all interested and inspiring umpires – players, parents or relatives! There is a well programmed level of practical development for all our umpires, starting with our trainees, progressing to Provisional, White Awards, Gosford Award, National Level and Representative programs (with scaled payment levels) If you are 12 or older and would like to umpire for our club, please contact the Umpire Convenor. You will be provided with an Umpire Rule book (also available online at (www.netball.com.au/ourgame/basic-rules-of-netball/ ) - study it hard and learn the rules J To umpire at GNA, you must complete the Rules of Netball Theory exam. You may sit this as many times as you need. Once you have passed the exam (70%), please print out 2 copies – one for GPCCNC and one for GNA. You will need to attend one of the GNA Beginner Umpire training days (TBA). You cannot umpire without attending one of these courses. Our club receives an Allocation Sheet from GNA and will then roster umpires to appropriate games for the weekend coming. That umpire draw will then be emailed to all our umpires to confirm your allocations for that weekend. I will send the allocation list to GNA on Thursday. Umpiring is a great sport and life skill to learn and we aim to make it as fun and stress free as we can – it increases your fitness level AND improves your game and netball knowledge along the way!
