July, 2017 Calendar of Events Kenner & River Parish Regions July 11, 2017: (Tuesday) General Membership Meeting for River Parish Please join us for our monthly meeting. This month we have Dr. Benjamin Romick, Cardiologist, who will speak about the diseases of the heart. We will meet in the Medical Office Building, 3rd floor Conference Room at 12 noon. Lunch will be provided. After lunch we will have an opportunity to sign you up on the CLOUD. Please be sure to participate. Please RSVP July 13, 2017: (Thursday) Antoine’s Summer Lunch Special Please join us for lunch at Antoine’s World Famous Creole Restaurant. We are limited to 15 guests per day. See the enclosed flyer with the prix fixed menu. Please indicate your menu choice when you rsvp for this event. The cost is $36.00 which includes lunch and transportation. Ochsner bus will pick up from Ochsner River Parish at 9:30 a.m. and then Ochsner Kenner pick up at 10:00 a.m. After lunch you will have leisure time to enjoy the sights and sounds of the French Quarter. Approximate return time to Kenner is 3:30 p.m. Please RSVP July 18, 2017: (Tuesday) St. Joseph Abbey/English Tea Room Please join us as we tour St. Joseph Abbey. The Abbey has educated many of the region’s civic and religious leaders. We will enjoy a tour of the Abbey Church and the monks’ refectory. As well as the gift shop, cemetery, Abbey art works by artist Dom Gregory deWit, and many more fascinating historic artifacts. The Ochsner Bus will pick up from Ochsner River Parish at 8:00 a. m. and at Ochsner Kenner for 8:30 a.m. Once we tour the Abbey we will then have lunch at the English Tea Room in Covington. Cost is $30.00 which includes tour, lunch and transportation. Please RSVP July 19, 2017 (Wednesday): General Membership Meeting (Kenner) Please plan to attend our General Membership meeting. Our guest speaker will be Ms. Scarlet Plocher with Home Instead Senior Care. Ms. Plocher will speak about balancing work and caretaking of an elderly parent. We will meet in the Medical Office Building, Board Room, 7th floor at 12 noon. Lunch will be provided. After lunch we will have an opportunity to sign you up on the CLOUD. Please remember, once you rsvp for an event, you have 5 days to pay for the event in order to secure your reservation. The reason for this, is so I may secure the venues. I must pay for the event, transportation and any other required fees prior to the actual day of the event. Sometimes they require payment 2 to 3 weeks in advance.
