Course Planning 2017-2018

Online Course Registration Students can make course selections in student VUE starting February 17th.  Students can make changes through student VUE on course selections through March 30th.  NO changes will be made to course requests until add/drop the 1st week of the 2017-2018 school year.  Please make selections carefully. 

The Pathways Project 

The Pathways Project @ Jamestown High School will focus on exploring pathways within the health and medical sciences field and will open doors to clinical observations and internships.

The Pathways Project Program will pilot with 100 freshmen students.  Students will experience flexibility through online courses, blended instruction, dual enrollment, early college, project-based and communitybased learning, and credit acceleration and recovery.  The program will connect with industries and businesses along the way. 

Graduation Requirements 28 credits needed to graduate

Standard Diploma 4 English 3 Math (Algebra 1 and above) 3 Science (from at least 2 different disciplines) 4 Social Studies 2 Health/PE 1 Fine Art 1 CTE credit 1 World Language 1 Economic/Personal Finance 8 Electives

Advanced Diploma 4 English 4 Math (Algebra 1 and above) 4 Science (from at least 3 different disciplines) 4 Social Studies 2 Health/PE 1 Fine Art 1 CTE Credit 3 World Language (or 2 each of two languages) 1 Economic/Personal Finance 4 Electives

Graduation Requirements Every student needs:  1 Online Course (EPF)  First Aid, CPR, AED (integrated into H/PE I)  Standard diploma requires industry certification test. 

Log into your Student Vue account and find the button for Course Request

Click that button and the screen should look like this. Then click the button that says “Click here to change course requests”

You are ready to search for courses. You can look by Department: (This is the easiest)

Or Course Title (This one can be tricky if you don’t know the exact title): Then click on “Search Courses” to get a list of courses.

If you click on the arrow in front of the title you can see a Course Description from the Program of Studies.It also tells you if you have not yet met the pre-requisite requirements.

When you have decided on a course choose the “Request” button. Then click “Click here to move selected requests to Selected Course Request.” You can do this after each class or at the end.

If you change your mind, you can remove a course and start over:
