The Association is governed by a 31 member Board of Trustees and has more than 1900 members. Greenspace Conservation

Community Value

Parks increase environmental awareness and stewardship and even make use of right-of-ways.

GRPA promotes outstanding park agencies contributing to reduced crime and increased property values.

GRPA works to protect and preserve Georgia’s wetlands, river corridors, and other natural resources.

Quality of Life

Parks partner with the community to provide cultural events, fitness opportunities, school support, and family time.

Recreation opportunities contribute to improved health and wellness through sports, aquatics, classes, camps, community events, and social interactions. Strong park agencies foster social equity by creating positive environments, activities, and programs for children and youth.

Economic Impact

Families, from pre-school children to senior adults, are strengthened by reconnecting with nature and practicing conservation.

Legislative Advocacy

Corporate relocation and increased tourism contribute to Georgia’s success.

GRPA connects with public policy makers to share expertise and advice; communicate the significant economic impact; and reiterate the value of parks and recreation services as a vital aspect of communities, healthy life styles, citizen rights, and the arts.

GRPA helps make Georgia an attractive destination through exceptional park and recreation services!
