Center for Human Services Research (CHSR) has been awarded the Three New Grants: Domestic Violence Homicide Prevention Demonstration Initiative

NIJ, Office on Women Against Violence Domestic Violence Homicide Prevention

Demonstration Initiative: CHSR is partnering with Westchester County to evaluate systems

and partnerships that address domestic violence and intimate partner homicide prevention. The study will identify the key barriers and gaps faced by domestic violence victims and their children, and the agencies designed to help them.

CHSR is conducting a study of factors that would encourage healthful food choices by lowincome residents residing in Washington and Warren Counties. Data will be collected through community focus groups and surveys. Research Staff: Sarah Rain and Cori Robohn Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative

CHSR has been awarded a contract to evaluate the Juvenile Detention Alternative Initiative (JDAI) operating in Albany County. The goal of JDAI is to further reduce unnecessary and

inappropriate placement in secure detention for NYS’ youth. CHSR will collect and analyze data to inform policy and case-level decisions. This research builds upon CHSR’s growing portfolio in the area of juvenile justice. Research Staff: Dr. Susan Deitzel
