s s e r P n o r I The April 2011

The Boys Are back in town Moran iron Works, Inc. employees have been busy traveling throughout the United States this month. They have been sighted as far south as Florida and as far east as New York. Hopefully you were able to attend the annual CTOTF (Combustion Turbine Operations Task Force ) conference in West Palm Beach Florida on April 11th and 12th. Moran Iron was once again represented, featuring a booth detailing our immense portfolios. Jim Badgero, a veteran at sales and a master at getting our name circulated, was there to meet and greet. Jason Willis, a first-timer at the

CTOTF conference, came packed with fresh information and insight. For the past 35 years the Combustion Turbine Operations Task Force has been instrumental in gathering owner/ operators together with suppliers to help establish a valuable professional relationship. Please see their website at www.ctotf.org .

New Jersey and Pennsylvania were visited by Jim and also Geri Ganske. They were able to stop and visit with many existing customers, and hopefully establish some new ones. Jim received some of that southern hospitality when

Weight Restrictions This year, like every year, we scheduled our shipping and delivery services around Mother Nature. Due to the quick warm up in early March the road weight restrictions were abruptly put into place by the State of Michigan. Since then our yard is overflowing with products awaiting trucking. We’re happy to report as of April 18th the State restrictions have been lifted and the county restrictions are soon to follow.

Iron One Institute Iron One Institute, a subsidiary of Moran Iron Works, is happy to announce that the Fall/ Winter class of 2010/2011 has been completed. Many Intermediate students completed the courses with Certificates of FCAW and SMAW Welding in their hands. As always, it is exciting to open new career doors for these young people. In October of 2004, MIW established the Iron One Educational Program, with its main goal to provide area residents and surrounding business with an opportunity to learn a marketable skill. Since the debut of our pilot courses, our classes have since been filled consistently with local residents. Besides classes for the general public we have also offered focused and condensed versions of these courses for area businesses who need to see results. Contact us at (989)733-2011 to set up classes for your team.

2205 Project Update We are approaching the halfway point of our in-shop work on this 2205 Stainless fabrication and modularization project. This Project will ultimately be installed atop two Absorber Modules at a power plant. Our shop fabrication began in March of 2011 and will be completed in July 2011, at which time our dock side crews will begin the final assembly process at our barging facility prior to loading the various large modularized components onto our delivery barges.
