Then and Now……. Tough economic times brings back some memories for Moran Iron Works, Inc. (MIW) The growth that MIW has experienced throughout the years from the people, the facilities and the products that we make, are rather remarkable. It seems our economy is bringing back a lot of the “repair” type work, rather than the new building structures that we have been used to building the last 8 to 10 years. We remember the times when fabricating and repairing machinery, equipment, and trailers was “Big” business. Now multi-million dollar Guy Post, (Then) 1989 Shop laborer, (Now) CWI and supervisor. Ductwork systems, exhaust silencers, and turbine components are the core of our everyday business. Not to say that we have forgotten what helped MIW grow to what we are today, we do still work on many of those small repair jobs. One thing Tom Moran (owner), always remembers and takes care of are those “mom and pop” businesses that were around when he first started welding, and are still around today trying to survive the harsh economic times we are all facing. Tom personally will do many of the small repair jobs himself, to keep production of the larger jobs more efficient and on schedule.
