Education Team January 20, 2015 9:00 People Present: Elery Keene, Susan MacKenzie, John Reuthe, Bonnie Sammons, Linda Woods Considering changing our name to Community Outreach Bonnie showed a power point that highlights the effects of climate change. (It was very engaging.) She is basing this on Visualizing Climate Change by Stephen R.J. Sheppard. We agreed it is important to create something for the impact locally. Goal: Building a vision for another type of future Scope: Causes/impacts/mitigation/adaptations/imagining resilient futures Frequency: once a month? John spoke of the requests he has received to repeat his 101 series. The Heating 101 was the best attended because it focused on the cost to individuals. Potential Topics for continuation of 101: CMP—how to monitor home use and reduce costs Solar (Vaughan? In April?) Herb Wilson about changing bird habits Small Woodlot Owners of Maine Lobster/fishing—Robin Alden? Nick Bennett—NRCM Lisa Fernandez—permaculture John Joseph—economic focus Maine Primitive Skills School How do we find an audience?
