2nd Annual Earth Day Move & Groove Downtown Waterville Saturday, April 28, 10am-3pm

Rain date May 5th (or the next sunny Saturday!)

Area residents are invited to converge in Downtown Waterville to celebrate Earth Day season and the coming of spring! This all-ages community event will offer a fun mix of stewardship opportunities, outdoor and educational activities, community art-making, and live music. Aside from the t-shirt making station, all activities are free to the public! 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Community Stewardship Opportunities Check in at Castonguay Square



Let’s Go! StoryWalk & Waterville Walks! : Enjoy Eric Carle’s

“From Head to Toe” story and illustrations as you test out the first of many up-coming downtown walking routes. Pick up any litter you see on your journey and bring it back to Castonguay. • Downtown Clean-Up: Grab some gloves, a tool and a trash bag and help to pick up litter in throughout Downtown. • Concourse Green Space: Participate in the creation of Downtown’s newest park space!

11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Celebration! Castonguay Square / Common Street

• Live music! • Make your own t-shirt: Learn from screen-printing master, Jeff Lucas of Black Dog Graphics and print your own Earth Day t-shirt. (Cost:?) • Local foods: Get a taste of the season at the Barrels Market sampling table. • Scavenger Hunt: Match environment-themed questions with the correct answers throughout downtown businesses and return to Castonguay for a prize. • Environmental Expo: The Sustain Mid-Maine Coalition has gathered their eco-minded friends and educators to show you the ropes of environmental living. Kennebec Messalonskee Trails will be looking for your input on walking and biking routes and trails in the area. Bicycle Coalition of Maine will have a trainer on site to run you through bike safety tips and a bike rodeo on Common Street, so bring your bike! • Common Street Gallery Art parade: Common Street students will parade their creative costumes, masks and signs through downtown. (11:30-12:00) • Recycled City: Join in a community art-making project to create a magical city out of recycled cardboard. (12:30-2:00) 3:15 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Grand Finale at Head of Falls green space • Yoga on the River: Join in a free outdoor yoga session with School Street instructors. No equipment or experience necessary. Just wear clothes that let you move and groove!
