INVITATION FOR BID NO. 2017-1383

D2 Re-Roofing of Transportation Building ADDENDUM Number 05 dated October 27, 2016 The Alameda-Contra Costa Transit District herewith issues this Addendum No. 05 to the above referenced Invitation for Bid. Except as modified below, all other terms and conditions remain in effect. Strikethrough text represents deletions from the original IFB and bold/italicized/underlined/highlighted text represent additions to original IFB text. RESPONSES TO QUESTIONS/CLARIFICATIONS Note: Questions 1-7 have been answered via addendum 01. Q8. I was looking through the specs and the drawing and didn’t see no dimensions of the skylight. If you could please provide those ocd (outside dimensions) that would be great thank you. a. The skylight curbs dimension is roughly 12’-10” diameter, roughly 5’3” per side. My field dimensions are not exacting, (the geometry of those dimensions don’t quite work). The contractor must field verify dimensions in order to determine their connection detail to the curb. There may be a standard 12’ that is cheaper than a custom 12’-10”, but the contractor must work out what they need for mounting the skylight to the existing curbs. We show it on the drawings as 12’-10” but avoided calling out a specific dimension since we want them to field verify what the conditions are. If a less expensive 12’ can be installed with adequate bearing, fine.

Q9. I was just informed that the specified 20 gauge Kynar coated parapet cap flashing specified in detail 7 @ A5.13 does not exist. I am surprised this has not come up sooner. We will bid thickest gauge available in Kynar, but will not be specified 20 guage. a. Due to the lack of availability, we will allow for specification variance and material substitution.

Q10. Included in the Bid Packet is the attached irrevocable Letter of Credit form which appears to be redundant in light of the requirement for a bid bond. Does the enclosed have to be completed and submitted in addition to providing the agency a qualified bid bond? If so, why? Lastly, if this is required, what amount does the agency expect the bidding contractor to commit to in this ILOC? a. The IFB calls for Bidder’s Bond or Irrevocable Standby Letter of Credit. Both are not required. END OF ADDENDUM 05
